Admissions Policy
Little Blossom Tree Nursery & Pre-School
Welcome to Little Blossom Tree
Little Blossom Tree Nursery & Pre-School provides care and early education for children aged approximately six months to five years. Our admissions arrangements aim to be fair, transparent and responsive to the needs of children and families.
Places depend on available space within the appropriate age group, staffing levels, statutory ratios and the nursery’s ability to provide safe and suitable care. We welcome families to contact us to discuss their needs and arrange a visit.
How places are allocated
Where demand exceeds availability, the nursery’s admissions policy identifies the following priorities, considered in order:
- Looked-after children.
- Children known to the local authority to have SEND whose needs can be met appropriately at the nursery.
- Vulnerable children with a Child Protection Plan, Child in Need Plan or other local authority support.
- Children with siblings already attending the nursery.
- Children whose parents live in the local area.
The availability of full-time and part-time places may also depend on room occupancy, work commitments and scheduling. A waiting list may be used where no suitable place is immediately available.
An inclusive admissions process
We aim to offer fair access to nursery places without unlawful discrimination. We discuss each child’s needs with their family, including any disability, medical requirements, allergies or additional support needs, so that appropriate arrangements can be considered before a start date is agreed.
Registration and essential information
Before a child starts, parents or carers are asked to complete and sign the relevant registration paperwork and nursery agreement. This helps us obtain the information needed to care safely for each child, including:
- Emergency contact details and parental responsibility information.
- Authorised collection arrangements.
- Medical needs, allergies, dietary requirements and care plans.
- Agreed sessions, fees and relevant permissions.
We encourage families to keep this information accurate and tell us promptly when circumstances change.
Government-funded childcare
Eligible families may be able to access government-funded early education or childcare hours, subject to current eligibility rules, availability and the nursery’s session arrangements. The original admissions policy describes termly entry for funded places and asks families to discuss preferred sessions with the nursery.
We explain the relevant funded-session options and any charges for additional services before arrangements are agreed.
Settling in
Starting nursery is an important step for children and families. We aim to work together to understand each child’s routines, preferences and needs and to make the transition as comfortable and positive as possible. Please contact us to discuss availability or the admissions process.
