Little Blossom Tree Nursery & Pre-School
Our commitment to equality
Little Blossom Tree Nursery is committed to providing a welcoming environment in which children, parents, carers, staff and visitors are treated with dignity and respect. We believe every child should have the opportunity to feel included, build confidence and take part in nursery life.
Our approach is guided by the Equality Act 2010 and relevant early years requirements. We aim to prevent unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and to promote positive relationships throughout our nursery community.
Fair access and participation
We seek to ensure that nursery activities, learning opportunities and services are accessible and fair. Children should not be disadvantaged because of disability, race, religion or belief, sex or other protected characteristics.
We recognise that treating everyone fairly does not always mean providing identical support. Some children need different approaches or reasonable adjustments to participate meaningfully. We work with families to understand these needs.
Respecting families and individual identities
Children grow up in families with different backgrounds, cultures, languages, beliefs and experiences. We aim to reflect this diversity through stories, resources, play opportunities and everyday conversations.
Practitioners encourage kindness, curiosity and respect, challenge stereotypes in age-appropriate ways and respond to discriminatory language or behaviour. We aim to create an environment where every child feels they belong.
Supporting additional needs
Our inclusion and SEND arrangements work together. Practitioners observe children’s progress, listen to parents and carers and make reasonable adjustments where required. We seek specialist guidance where appropriate and aim to ensure children with additional needs can enjoy nursery activities alongside their peers.
Working with staff and families
We expect staff to uphold our commitment to equality in their conduct and daily practice. We encourage open communication with families and take concerns about exclusion, discrimination or unfair treatment seriously.
If you would like to discuss an individual need or raise a concern, please speak with the nursery manager. Our full Inclusion and Equality Policy is available on request.
